Rousse or “ROOSE” as it’s pronounced (to rhyme with Goose – for any foreigners to our shores) is a rocky headland which can turn on the goods giving buttery smooth delights!

The Launch

There is only one way to get to this spot and that’s to launch at Ladies Bay and head up wind to the Northern side of Rouse pier.

The Good

If you want flat water then this is the baby. Once the tide has receded and exposed the causeway to the outer reef you can then make the most of this spot.  The wind is super clean as it comes over the reef and you can blast a few feet away from the reef milking the smooth buttery goodness for all its worth!

The Bad

It’s going to take you a fair few tacks to get up there and to most people it’ll be more hassle than its worth. Also, not a great deal of room, you can kite here with 3 kiters max as you don’t want to be boosting and landing on your buddy as he makes his way back to the start of the track.

The Ugly

If you bust any gear or can’t relaunch your kite you’ve got a long swim back. The only consolation being the wind will be behind you and blowing you back to the beach but this could take a while.
